Microsoft Will Soon Allow Users to Register for Windows 10 19H2 Builds

Microsoft is getting ready to open the doors for its Skip Ahead ring once again, and the company suggested during the latest webcast that this could happen as soon as this week.

By making Skip Ahead available for users, Microsoft basically makes a major step towards the release of the first Windows 10 19H2 build.

Earlier this week, the company confirmed that builds that are part of the next-next Windows 10 feature update would begin shipping in just a few weeks, and it looks like work in this regard is advancing.

Microsoft is expected to begin shipping Windows 10 19H2 preview builds to the Skip Ahead ring before the RTM version of Windows 10 19H1 is finalized. This means work on Windows 10 version 1903 would go forward with help from Fast ring insiders, though the company is also likely to ship preview builds to the Slow ring too.

Limited seats

At this point, the Fast ring is still getting preview builds of Windows 10 19H1, whereas the Slow and the Release Preview rings are being provided with updates for Windows 10 version 1809 (October 2018 Update). This is because Microsoft wants to thoroughly test update reliability for the October update, especially after this version was originally pulled due to critical issues.

In the near future, however, Microsoft is likely to update both the Slow and the Release Preview rings to 19H1 builds, especially as we get closer to the March RTM sign-off date, so opening the Skip Ahead ring once again would allow the company to continue working on the next major update.

As always, spots in the Skip Ahead ring will be limited, so once it becomes available, you should enroll as soon as possible to make sure you are among the first insiders to get Windows 10 19H2 builds.
