Breaking Ground Out Now on Consoles

As previously announced, Squad and Private Division are bringing the latest chapter in the Kerbal Space Program saga to consoles. The new Breaking Ground expansion is now available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players after it initially landed on PC in May 2019.

The expansion requires the based game and costs $15 / €15 for either of the two platforms – PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Breaking Ground brings an average amount of content, such as new robotic parts, additional ways to collect scientific data, as well as various surface features that make the game even more fun to play.

These new features were highly-praised on PC, and we are very excited to bring this expansion to all our console players. Kerbal Space Program Enhanced Edition: Breaking Ground enriches their experience by providing tons of new ways to venture across the celestial bodies of the solar system,” said Nestor Gomez, Lead Producer at Squad.

The all-new robotic parts come in various shapes and sizes, including hinges, rotors, pistons, and many more. These lets players expand beyond their capabilities in the original game by providing the ability to create more complex vehicles and vessels than ever before.

Also, with the new expansion, players will have an entirely new way to harness collected data from celestial bodies through Deployed Science. Modular storage containers found in vessels enable Kerbals to hold various tools such as seismometers, weather collection stations, and more. Keep in mind that these instruments must be constructed on planetary surfaces to relay information back to the Kerbal’s home planet so that they can increase their understanding of the solar system.

Last but not least, Breaking Ground changes some gameplay aspects such as the exploration of celestial bodies, thanks to the addition of new surface features that are scattered across planets. These surface features include cryovolcanoes, meteorites, craters, and many more mysterious objects for players to investigate.
