Double Trouble Free DLC Drops on February 6

Chucklefish, the developer behind Starbound, has just announced that its other critically-acclaimed game, Wargroove is getting a free DLC next month. Dubbed Double Trouble, the upcoming DLC will be available for free on PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One on February 6. PlayStation 4 players will be getting the free DLC soon after, so stay tuned for more info on the release date.

As far as the content goes, Double Trouble brings a lot of new content and gameplay features, including a brand new co-op enabled campaign, new Commanders, as well as public and private multiplayer lobbies.

Wargroove: Double Trouble has been specifically designed with co-op play in mind. That being said, the DLC adds a new story campaign that introduces Outlaw Commanders – the mighty Wulfar, troublemaker twins Errol and Orla, as well as the maleficent Vesper.

Forced by unforeseen events, your group of misfits has no choice but to perform the biggest heist that Aurania has ever seen – plundering riches from the Imperial Palace of Heavensong, Stone Mountain Fort of Felheim, the Celandine Vault of Cherrystone and the Floran’s Iron Roots reserves.

Obviously, that won’t be easy, but at least you’ll have two new units at your command – Thieves and Riflemen. You’ll have to take tactical advantage of these new recruits, sending forth your Thief to ransack enemy gold and carefully position your Rifleman to take out enemy troops.

The brand new co-op story campaign can be played couch co-op, online co-op or even solo. Besides the two new units (Thieves and Riflemen), the DLC adds three new roguish commanders, new arcade missions, competitive online Quick Play, as well as Public and Private multiplayer lobbies.

Also, expect a new Volcano map theme and more updates to the custom Editor tools, along with Outlaw music tracks composed by Phonetic Hero. The folks at Chucklefish confirmed that the DLC will be launching at the same time as an upcoming patch which will also include balance adjustments to a number of units and Commanders.
